DMX – UPDATE!!!
Legendary rapper Earl Simmons, also known as DMX, was “devastated” over the loss of his dogs in Friday’s raid at his Cave Creek-area home, according to his lawyer.
“He’s devastated,” said Murray Richman, the rapper turned actor’s New York attorney, providing the first reaction since Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies raided the home and discovered three dead dogs, guns, and cars with non-traceable license plates.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said Monday that investigators are working to identify the substance found in the rapper’s locked bedroom.
The substance is thought to be an illegal narcotic, possibly methamphetamine, Arpaio said. “Hopefully, by tonight, we’ll have a result.”
Richman said he still has not spoken to Arpaio about the raid, despite attempts to contact him.
The lawyer and sheriff continue to disagree about when DMX last visited his Arizona home, a rural property west of Cave Creek.
Richman said DMX has not been at the home for “several months,” while Arpaio said neighbors have seen the rapper within the past three weeks.
When asked about DMX’s whereabouts, Richman told a reporter, “Why would I tell you?”
